Dear Grittner, Well here it is. What you've wanted, the ramblings of Gator McKlusky. It struck me as kind of funny to think about the band camp fiasco. Why did there ever need to be a scape-goat for the loss of the crystals? I think that if there was no other consensus, it was at least routinely agreed upon that a man has got the ability to do what he thinks is really right. As long as that's what he really believes. Fuck it otherwise. Otherwise. That's a beautiful fucking word, if I do say so. I don't take credit for the word, of course, just its placement in the history of this document. I don't claim to have any real connection to it you haven't already experienced yourself...it's just that occasionally I'm a bit more prone, in order, to see it. It ain't your fault. You don't always recognize it, it took me forever, and a pseudo religion acquisition to be able to not want to pound the shit out of every 57 year old Ethel who was out in her Sunday pants suit and driving 23 in a 25 mile an hour zone, and not realizing that the majority of us plan to drive 35 mph, because the cops will always give you 10, no matter what. You got no idea what she's conditioned herself to believe as to what should be happening then, and presumably for the rest of your life. It just kind of all seems to work out for the best if you sit back and approach everything as honestly as you can. If you find five bucks on the ground, pick it up and actually give a fuck who dropped the thing, and, more importantly, how to get it back to them. This is what I take from Buddhism. Just exactly what you fucking know you should do, but really actually down deep feeling it as a first reaction. It's funny, but it ain't easy to do until you really work at it for a while, and then it's hard to hold on to. The General he sat, and the lines on the map moved from side to side. "Listen son", said the man with gun, "there's room for you on this side." |
